My new rule of thumb

… and other musings.

I want to adopt the 80/20 rule for life. If I can get things right 80% of the time, that's good enough. Don't sweat the other 20%.

Best advice I got this year regarding going for things you want:

1) Yes it may be too soon; and

2) You should go for things too soon.

If you get 100% of the things you go for, you are waiting too long.

And lastly:

stop looking for answers.

I don’t even know if I do look for answers. but this feels right to me for some reason.

Here’s a random quote I recently read in Kurt Vonnegut’s Cat’s Cradle:

“P.P.P.S. Twenty-four hours later. I have reread this letter and I can see where somebody might get the impression that I don’t do anything but sit around and remember sad things and pity myself. Actually, I am a very lucky person and I know it. I am about to marry a wonderful little girl. There is love enough in this world for everybody, if people will just look. I am proof of that.”
